Sustainable development
Over two third of the lead used worldwide is recycled. Lead is the most recycled metal and by far. At BJ Industries we are proud to contribute to that success.
But for us sustainable development means more. It is
- recycling under optimal conditions of workplace health and safety
- respecting demanding environmental standards
- saving energy and operating with the lowest possible carbon footprint
Last not least: robustness and long service life of our equipment are yet another meaning of “sustainability”.
In the 1980’s, Métal Blanc, a producer of non-ferrous metals in north eastern France starts recycling of ‘end of life’ lead acid batteries:
- All starts with the development of the equipment. Lead recycling quickly grows to become Métal Blanc’s main business.
- 1987: foundation of Bourson Jonet Industries by Mr. Jean Louis Bourson, CEO of Métal Blanc and Paul Jonet, Industrial director
- 1988: BJ industries wins its first contract in France for the construction of a greenfield plant
- 1999: BJ Industries moves into its current premises, enlarged in 2007
Still today the proximity to Métal Blanc allows BJ Industries to validate under industrial conditions concepts developed by the design office.
40 years of industrial innovation
International leadership
The rapid international development of BJ Industries starts in 1990 under the leadership of its CEO Paul Jonet with turnkey installations in Europe, Asia and Africa.
BJ Industries’s expertise has benefitted customers on all continents through design services and installation of plant and equipment.
In 2020 BJ Industries is acquired by BJ Developpement. The holding joins private equity with participation of BJ Industries’ historic shareholders and of its management to ensure business continuity and the independence of the company.
We are no salespeople of ‘off the shelve’ machinery. Our team is composed of professionals with decades of industrial experience.
Their work starts with understanding the objectives, priorities and constraints of our clients.
It is only after having proposed a pre-project based on clear specifications supplied by or co-developed with our customer that we propose a technical offer and a budget quote.

Our products are ‘Made in France’. Our network of subcontractors is located in our region.
All components (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic) are procured from reputed suppliers that guarantee their quality and performance.
For parts of our offer which we do not entirely manufacture ourselves we partner with companies that work with us since a long time.
